READ: Acts 3:11-26
In
the wake of two Jesus-followers sharing grace, hope, and a hand up with the
lame man, “all the people” came running toward them, “utterly astonished.”
“All
the people” in this case included many who hung out near the temple, but
never connected with the God for whom the temple stood. Peter
explained their astonishment:
God glorified Jesus.
You distanced yourselves.
You killed Jesus.
God raised Him.
God wins.
Peter
knows, even sympathizes with their ignorance. He graciously invites them to
wise up.
