READ: Acts2:42-47
The
first group of gospel-believing, Holy Spirited, Jesus-followers are portrayed
as having a particular rhythm of life. The
appearance to onlookers was characterized as “awesome.”
When
groups of people choose to spend their lives together in community, are shared
norms, agreed upon rhythms, and common goals necessary. For the early adventurers it seemed that all
of life was lived in mindfulness of God.
The primary allegiance of every participant in the Christian community
was to nurture the new life swelling within them individually and collectively.
Luke
reports a daily impact…both on their community and all eternity.

Do
others describe your rhythm of life as “awesome?” Why or why not?
Identify
aspects of your communal experience with other Jesus-followers:
- we study apostles’ teachings devotedly
- we pray together often
- we enjoy regular “wonders”
- we see signs of God
- we share things in common
- we sacrifice our own possessions to share with those in need
- we spend time together daily
- we praise God specifically
- we prioritize the goodwill of all people
Which
aspects of your Christian community is strongest?
Which
communal aspect is lacking?
Invitation:
Ponder
how your life rhythm directly impacts value to lives of those around you?
