Day Seven

READ:  Acts4: 1-22

“We’ve never done it that way before” was once dubbed the motto of a dying church or “the seven last words of a dying congregation.”

The early Jesus-followers faced ongoing grief for their audacity to revive something which (someone who) had been “broken” for 40 long years.

For Peter and the early adventurers, the new life being imparted by God’s spirit was inevitable and unstoppable.  They had experienced it and were helplessly determined to share it anywhere and everywhere it was welcome.

When authorities attempted to thwart the adventurers, Peter simply pointed at the newly walking (running, dancing) “lame man” and the 5000 amazed onlookers who were newly considering praising this God.  He explained that God values resurrection over rules or ruts.

What brokenness has lingered too long in your:

body:

neighborhood:

family:

soul:

Are you open to a “new kind of life” yielding change?   Y/N

How must it have felt for the 40 year-old man-born-lame to take his first step?

... to cease begging ?

…to pursue a new vocation?

…to stand on his own?

Invitation: Ponder today how God might long to bring new life to you.
